Direct recruitment for Junior Assistant, Bill collector, Field Surveyor, Draftsman, Steno, Typist etc., comes under Group IV Services.

Also, for Field Surveyor and Draftsman posts, the candidates who are trained by ITI in Tamil Nadu can be as old as 35 years and still apply for the posts.
Relaxation of age is provided for all these posts. For differently-abled persons, a relaxation of 10 years is set.
For ex-servicemen, if they belong to Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, and Backward Castes, The maximum age limit is 53 years and for the rest, 48 years.
NOTE: No maximum age limit for candidates belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs, BCMs and Destitute Widows of all castes who possess a General Educational Qualification which is higher than the Minimum General Educational Qualification (i.e. who have passed P.U.C / H.S.C / Diploma /Degree).

It is an single stage objective type examination consisting of General Studies and Tamil Eligibility-cum-scoring test.

Since educational qualification is SSLC level questions will be direct, simple and school text book in nature.
It is a direct single examination clearing of this with maximum marks guarantees government service.

The candidate has to apply via online through form available TNPSC website http://www.tnpsc.gov.in/. The notification and application form are usually made available online about 4 months (100-110 days) before the preliminary TNPSC examinations. Candidate must have read through the instruction given in the respective TNPSC notification, before applying.
