This examination is exclusively for the recruitment of Village Administrative Officers.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates should possess the following or its equivalent qualification on the date of notification. Must possess minimum general educational qualification viz. Must have passed S.S.L.C public examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to higher secondary courses of studies or to college courses of studies.

Note

  • The applicants who have not passed S.S.L.C examination or its equivalent are not eligible even if they possess a higher qualification.

Knowledge of Tamil

  • Candidates should possess knowledge of Tamil
  • It is also an objective type examination consisting of General Studies and one has to choose General Language either Tamil / English.
  • Language paper English consist of three sections viz., Part A) Grammar, B) Literature and C) Authors and their Literary Works.
  • There will be questions on village administrative units for twenty-five marks.
  • Since educational qualification is SSLC level questions will be direct, simple and school text book in nature.
  • It is a direct single examination clearing of this with maximum marks guarantees government service.
  • The candidate has to apply via online through form available TNPSC website http://www.tnpsc.gov.in/. The notification and application form are usually made available online about 4 months (100-110 days) before the preliminary TNPSC examinations. Candidate must have read through the instruction given in the respective TNPSC notification, before applying.

There will be two papers - Type 1 and Type 2. Both the papers will have the same questions of General Studies (75 questions), Aptitude and Mental Ability Test(25 questions).

But the Type 1 paper will have 100 questions of General English and Type 2 paper will have 100 questions of General Tamil.
